Readalong Bundle in Art Feeds Online

Searching for summer activities to engage your littles? Explore fun DIY projects paired with your little artist's favorite books in our curriculum site Art Feeds Online! Perfect for including reading + fun activities to hot afternoons and evenings this summer.

Each lesson has a teaching video, supply list, instructions, printables and more. Let’s take a look at what’s included in our Readalong Bundle this month!

First up: Twirling Giraffe Jar

For this project we are inspired by the story “Giraffe’s Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees. Together, we’ll create a giraffe that like Gerald, very much CAN dance. Our project will create a jar that will help the Giraffe do their very best dance move - a twirl!

Mixed Media Naturescapes

A little inch worm uses the tools he has to measure the birds around him (and to survive!) teaching us that even the littlest creatures can solve problems creatively and can do hard things. Inspired by Leo Lionni’s story and artwork in the book “Inch by Inch”, we’ll be creating a mixed media naturescape using various art materials.

Strength Stones

Let’s read “These Words I Shaped for You” written by Megan Merchant and illustrated by Basak Agaolu. In this story, you’ll hear something special the parent panda shares with the child panda- Strength stones. We’ll make our own to remind us of our own strength using found rocks and some outside objects.

Idea Container

Join us in reading one of our favorite books, “What Do You Do with an Idea?” and learn how to be brave with your big ideas.

There are two options to completing this project, either as a container using Salt-Dough Clay or a container using Paper and a Tin Can.

When you make your own version of these projects, post it online with #ArtFeedsMakes so we can cheer on your creativity! And did you see last month’s Art + Nature Bundle?
